To animate Mark Twain reacting to a big news. It was pretty fun researching about him.

I still have to polish it better but here's the progress so far.



And a walk cycle of a character from a book, Abandoned by Paul Gallico.
Most of the characters in a book are cats but we took those character's personality and animated as a human.

Creepy Ghost Test

First Animation Assignment of the semester!!

The assignment was to create a moment with two characters in conversation.
And then something happens in the scene and there is a reaction to that something.


My character is a man and evil, extra evil, very evil Ghost!

This test need some more refinement but it was as far as I got by the due date.
I will have some time to polish this throughout the semester and the end of the semester.

So here's the playblast of what I have so far.
I still need to offset some parts and make some revision but! I like GHOST!!

But I usually don't like evil ghost, I like one like Caspar!

A Dream of mine

Who Am I??

I am taking BFA for Animation/Illustration.
This is the class we take when we are graduating senior.
Since few years ago, the very first assignment of this class have been to make a introduction video of yourself.

It was pretty fun to see everyone's intro video.

Well I love musicals and I do minor in Musical Theatre.

So I just made a intro musical.


4 or 5 Miyukies singing at the same time... crazy!

Here is my intro video done in a week.

I changed the words to fit in this story of myself.
And I did sing this! Everyone thinks this isn't me singing this!
But It's ME!! haha

Animation 2011 Spring Smester

Here is what I submitted for the final for ART129B 3D character animation class.

I am hoping to refine it during summer so that I can polish it to the better level.

Animation Doodle.

I get bored a lot.

So sometimes, I pick some recycle animation paper and animate something for a while.

I call it animation doodle. Just like people doodle on the paper when they get bored.

It's an animated doodle.

The first one that looks like spider is actually a head of Green Ninja (an animation project during semester I will post it when it's done.)

But I messed up when I was inking, and Started draw legs and arms on the head.

Then It looked like some spider so I animated it.

DCM

DCM is something we(Danny, Crith, Miyuki) are doing for fun.

We are just animating for fun.

And I did this ghost-ish soul-ish things being born , and dying.

Married Woman!

I am a married woman now.

I just got married last Wednesday.

We won't do big wedding until after I graduate, but I am a married woman now!

I am an aunt now!

My brother (actually younger brother!!) just had baby!

They said the room was shaking when the mom was giving a birth due to earthquake!

But, whatever happens in the world, A new life is born somewhere in the world!

So I have a niece now! Soooo cute. soooo cute.

I love them. Just because they are so funny and cool and just awsome!

They are like Japanese monsters.

So I decided to draw them and complete all of them from my book of Yokai.

There are almost 200 different kinds on this book, but it will be fun.

It comes out of mud. Usually they have 3 fingers and only one eye is open. Usually it is a old guy. but made it a kid, I like kids!!!

I think it's a hairy monster....

Most of Yokai is weird and some of them are actually joke and not really based on traditional monster. But who cares, I think they are lovely!

Climbing Tree

First assignment for my 129B 3D character animation class.

It came out very,very, umm I don't know how to say it but.

Not very strong poses.

and the character's motivation is not that clear.

I like the bird though!

Still, need to work on it and make it better by final.

129B from last semester

Final Reel art 129B Fall 2010 from Miyuki Maruyama on Vimeo.

This is the final reel for Art129B I took last semester which is 3D character animation class.

It was my second semester taking it. I was supposed to put all the shots I've done in chronological order.

I just realize, It says Spring 2009 but that's wrong, it's Spring 2010.

Now, I really see some errors and many things I need to fix.

I try to polish the last one especially.

And Now I am taking this class for 3rd time. I hope I will get goooood shots out of this class this semester.
